I'm training to climb Mt. Hood to raise money for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle Wa. I'm required to raise $2500 by June 3rd, and half of that by April 1st, so be generous and help me get there! Thanks for following my quest!

HOW DOES YOUR DONATION HELP?
The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (www.fhcrc.org) is on the forefront of breast cancer research. It relies on the private sector to bring in dollars for scientists to develop cutting-edge studies. Traditional funding, such as from the National Institutes of Health, typically does not support these initial research projects. Funds raised through special events provide seed money for Fred Hutchinson scientists and researchers to launch new studies. This seed money enables scientists to develop preliminary findings, a necessary first step before they are eligible to compete for large-scale research awards. Proceeds from the 2005 Climb will directly benefit these types of breast cancer studies, called pilot studies, at Fred Hutchinson.
MORE ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN
Located at the northern end of the Oregon Cascades, Mt. Hood rises up to an impressive 11,237 feet, and qualifies as the tallest mountain in Oregon State. With 11 glaciers carving paths down its steep slopes, this Oregon’s volcanic beauty has been sculpted over thousands of years. I will begin my adventure by devoting day one to learning and fine-tuning the skills I will need to achieve a successful climb of Mt. Hood. Day two I will embark to summit this spectacular peak in the name of breast cancer research.
